“Oh Snap!”
For this issue of “Oh Snap,” we asked for your best “Back-to-School” photos, but one of the photos we received, though out of category, was too great not to publish.
This is Capt. Kirby Mills of the United State Marine Corps, holding the May/June issue of Lynchburg Living. Mills’ parents, Fred and Dianne, live in Lynchburg and tell us this about the photo:
“He is currently deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment out of Camp Pendleton, California and is an Advisor to the Afghan National Army (ANA),” Dianne said. “We send him packages all the time and put newspapers, magazines, etc., in them from home. He always likes to know what is going on at home. Life in Afghanistan is so tough for our military. Where he is, there are few amenities.
