Penelope was surrendered to us when her owner realized the costs for diagnosis and treatment of her major hair loss condition just was not available. She was taken to the veterinarian and diagnosed with hypo thyroid and a yeast infection. Penelope’s thyroid condition caused her to lose her hair and the yeast infection was caused by aggravation of her digging at her skin. Poor Penelope was a very miserable girl.
With proper treatment for her ailments, Penelope has become a very happy dog. She now greets people at her kennel door ready to show off her beautiful, white coat that is almost all grown back in. At eight years old, Penelope still looks forward to some playtime out in the play area. The one thing Penelope enjoys most is just sitting with you and being petted.
Come meet Penelope and many other lovable animals at the Lynchburg Humane Society during their new shelter hours, Tuesday through Friday from Noon to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m. Visit www.lynchburghumanesociety.org to see all the adoptable pets online.
